The OCV multifunctional system developed by SEA Vision for packaging inspection was originally conceived as a basic optical character recognition instrument. Year by year this inspection system has turned into a packaging inspection top-performing solution, able to perform with the highest flexibility several customized types of packaging inspection for every needs, both on the cosmetic packaging aspect and on codes/characters printed on the product.

 

The OCV structure is modular and scalable: software functions can be added over time as individual controls are associated with specific licenses for dedicated packaging inspection applications. In order to simplify the system programming, OCV has an auto-programming wizard that guides the operator during working format management.

The OCV multifunction system includes the Programmable Measures tool. This is a powerful and adaptable instrument that allows operators to create by itself a wide range of special packaging inspection application that can be programmed by means of the user-friendly interface.This tool offers a library of pre-configured image manipulation operations that allows the operator to create a custom application for image analysis with specific acceptance conditions.

OCV EVOLUTION / LITE

OCV system for packaging inspection adn codes/characters check is available in two versions, Evolution and Lite, which are different in terms of system expandability.

OCV EVOLUTION

OCV Lite is particularly suitable for applications that require a maximum of two cameras; whereas, OCV Evolution can perform extra multifunction checks without limitations in terms of expandability.

OCV Evolution can simultaneously manage multiple connected packaging machines with the highest flexibility and integration on the packaging line.

    VIAL STOPPER PRESENCE INSPECTION

    This application checks for the correct positioning of vial stoppers and caps. The controls perform a measure of angles and lines between cardinal points on the stopper edge.

    VIAL CAP SEALING RING PRESENCE

    Check the presence and position of sealing ring on vials caps. The check can be performed on conveyor belts and on rotary packaging machines.

    The vial cosmetic inspection checks the correct crimping, the presence of scratches, stains and cracks on the crimp, as well as the presence and color of flip-off cap.

    Inspection of the cap integrity, checking for broken or missing parts.

  • Syringe flange Inspection

    SYRINGE FLANGE CHECK

    Checks for the presence and integrity of syringe flanges. The programmable measure calculates the distance of multiple pOints on the syringe border to detect broken parts.

  • Dropper pipette insepction

    DROPPER PIPETTE INSPECTION

    Detection of obstruction or flaws in a dropper hole. The application performs this check by measuring the light that passes inside the hole itself.

  • Pharmaceutical bottle cap inspection

    CAPS SHAPE CHECK

    Checks for cap defects. The programmable measure allows detection of flaws in the cap border due to crushing.

  • Pharmaceutical cartridge integrity inspection

    BOTTOM CARTRIDGE INTEGRITY CHECK

    This control uses a sophisticated lighting setup that improves the borders brightness, whilst verifying the integrity and defects on the bottom of the cartridge.

    DATAMATRIX CODE CHECK ON VIAL SKIRT

    360° inspection of the cylindrical symmetry objects’ circumference, such as vials and ampoules, for the 2D code check on the product’s skirt. This 360° control system is necessary due to the random positioning of the Data Matrix code on the skirt.

    PRINT CHECK - PROFILE CHECK

    Check of the printed area and verification of defects presence (exceeding or missing characters, printouts with missing zones and text lines.

  • Codes and variable data inspection

    CODES AND VARIABLE DATA

    The application checks the product identification code and the pre-printed or in line printed variable data. The OCV/OCR control performs a recognition and the measure of characters, ensuring the printout quality.

  • Variable data inspection on pharmaceutical blisters

    CHECK OF PRINTED VARIABLE DATA ON BLISTER

    Check of the variable data printed on aluminum blisters by inkjet printers after the blister sealing station.

  • Codes barcodes pharmacodes printed on bottle caps

    CODE CHECKS ON VIAL CAPS, AND ROTATION IN HUMAN READABLE POSITION.

    The control is performed also on the barcode, Pharmacode and print on the vial label.

  • Print quality inspection characteres inspection

    PQV CHECK AND CHARACTERS READING

    Quality check of the in-line printed data on the blister lidding material. The PQV check is combined with a OCV/OCR variable data check.

  • Linear codes Inspection ANSI Grading

    CODE READING

    This check consists in the comparison of the printed code on the product with the reference code inserted at production batch start.OCV supports linear pharmacodes, high density linear codes and 2D codes (Datamatrix). The control system manages possible code rotations, and it checks the printouts quality (ANSI Grading) defining the least accepted quality level.

    Check of the laser printouts of the Datamatrix code and the variable data on the carton flap. Laser printer management and programming of batch data to be printed on-line.

    CHECK OF DATAMATRIX CODE ON SYRINGE PRINTED BY LASER PRINTER

    This application will guarantee the check also in presence of shadows and reflections created by the surface. Moreover the system is able to manage the printout rotations.

  • Character inspection on vial bottom

    CHARACTER CHECK ON VIAL BOTTOM

    Characters check on the bottom of glass vials by mean of a special optical setup that maximizes the contrast with the background.
