SEA Vision announces the acquisition of ARGO Vision
Pavia, August 31st, 2020. SEA Vision announces the 100% acquisition of ARGO Vision, a startup located in Milan, specializing in the development of Artificial Intelligence solutions with particular focus on Computer Vision.
ARGO is a young and dynamic company whose founders have more than 15 years of experience in the development of technologies related to Computer Vision and Machine Learning. Further to its know-how, ARGO Vision contributes two strong elements to SEA Vision: a highly successful suite of Artificial Intelligence and the transversal nature of the markets and application sectors in which it has operated so far.
The team’s natural aptitude for research and development makes ARGO Vision the ideal technological partner to give further impulse to the internal research activities of the group, aimed at releasing new products enhanced by latest generation AI. Advancements based on the integration of neural technologies, in which ARGO Vision is a specialist, will enhance all products of the group making them even faster, reliable, and performing thanks to an enhanced algorithmic.
With this transaction, SEA Vision acquires the rights to use all ARGO Vision software licenses and to integrate them within its pharmaceutical software platform.
“We are particularly pleased to announce the acquisition of an innovative company that retraces our history in various aspects, and to which we recognize a consolidated expertise in a highly innovative segment as Artificial Intelligence is – and we are sure that it will allow us to instill a new renewal to our industrial vision systems.” Declared Luigi Carrioli, President of SEA Vision group.
“The acquisition of ARGO Vision” declares Michele Cei, CEO of SEA Vision “it’s a new important step for the enhancement of the 4.0 yudoo suite, the central fulcrum of our actual strategy, in which neural network technology will give a fundamental contribution to Big Data analysis processes and to Business Intelligence. Together with ARGO and its excellence technologies, SEA Vision is today an even more ideal partner for all those pharmaceutical companies that want to evolve their production and organization with cutting-edge solutions in a 4.0 perspective.
A story that repeats itself
ARGO Vision was founded in 2016 by colleagues and friends, Alessandro Ferrari (CEO) and Gabriele Lombardi (CTO), with significant experience in the Computer Vision sector since their academic attendance at the University of Milan.
“The integration of our work teams configures itself as a great opportunity for both commercial and technological growth: in ARGO Vision we will be able to apply our technologies in the Computer Vision and Machine Learning fields within the Pharma and Cosmetic sectors that SEA Vision knows perfectly well. At the same time, we will continue to operate in our reference markets with a more international scope” said Alessandro Ferrari, co-founder and CEO of ARGO Vision.
“From day one, there was total harmony with SEA Vision. The love for innovation and the technological and scientific analogies that we have in common, have made this transition truly natural. We founded ARGO on the value of sharing knowledge and on a solid research and development system, from today these values become a part of a larger and more mature mechanism. We are ready to bring our enthusiasm and our expertise within the group to achieve new, brilliant results” said Gabriele Lombardi, co-founder and CTO of ARGO Vision.
Perhaps it is not a coincidence that the acquisition of ARGO takes place during the same days in which SEA Vision prepares to celebrate its 25th Anniversary. Established in Pavia in 1995 as a university spin-off, SEA Vision quickly became a leader of machine vision and software for the complete management and processes applied to the pharmaceutical industry.
A new perspective and a shared vision combine the paths of two companies that have made applied innovation their main objective: ARGO and SEA Vision is the new partnership to turn to for greater performance and intelligent automation and Artificial Vision solutions.
